MSI Defense Solutions Completes 20mm Naval Weapon System Integration Supporting Greece FMS Program 

Company Delivers Fully Integrated LIONFISH® 20 Remote Weapon Station Capability, Reinforcing Five Years of Maritime Weapons Integration Experience 

Mooresville, NC — August 2026 — MSI Defense Solutions LLC (MSI) has completed integration of a next-generation 20mm weapon system onto a former U.S. Coast Guard Cutter being transferred to the Hellenic Navy under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program administered by the U.S. Coast Guard. 

MSI integrated the Leonardo LIONFISH® 20, a remotely operated, stabilized naval weapon system onto the vessel, delivering a modernized, mission-ready capability for transfer to an allied naval partner. The integration scope included structural reinforcement of existing ship components, turret mounting modifications, supporting electronics integration, and enhancements to the command and control station. 

The LIONFISH® 20 provides a 20mm machine gun with a coaxial sensor suite, daylight camera, infrared sensor, and laser range finder enabling autonomous surveillance, target identification, and precision aiming through a remote-control console. 

MSI developed and executed comprehensive integration, installation, and testing plans to ensure system performance and platform compatibility. Validation efforts included structural load analysis, recoil force assessments, sea state condition modeling, and vessel stability calculations associated with added system weight. Testing and evaluation activities were conducted OCONUS to verify operational safety and mission readiness prior to delivery.
